This one’s my favorite. I love her colors, the gauzy silhouettes, but it is just me or does every single model need a sandwich? The pin stick legs and razor collarbones! They just look awful. I couldn’t get past the emaciation. A little bit of meat, perhaps a calf muscle, would do more justice to these clothes.

The models are thin but they aren’t the thinnest out there. Chaiken used sturdier models. They’re still tall, thin and young but aren’t to the extreme. Wearable clothes too.

Much better models. I don’t feel like adopting them for 25 cents a day. I love Chaiken’s look…the b&w outfits are sharp, especially with the belted shirt over skirt. Love that belt. But the grecian-wrap dresses look ill-fitting, even on the wafer-thin, the fabric bunches up unflatteringly.

Am embarrassed that I thought Jil Sanders was a woman. It’s the name. Is Jil the european version of Pat?

Jil Sander is a woman. She retired from designing, then came back, then sold her company. Raf Simons is now the creative director designer.
